"What?" Terry was staring at me.

Terrwyn shook his head to hide the brooding that he knew had been written on his face, "I'm sorry." He didn't know what to say to the question. He was thinking of leaving? If she felt about him the same that he felt about her, that would hurt them both. Anything else? If she didn't feel like him, that would be rather an odd situation. He turned his head so that he was facing the cave entrance instead, although his ears flicked back to Mystic more than strictly necessary.

"I love you" I whispered. Then i pricked my ears, came up to Terrwyn and licked his cheek.

Terrwyn couldn't believe his ears. His head turned back to Mystic as the she-wolf came up to him. He rose, allowing her to lick his cheek, and then returned the gesture. That settled things, he supposed. "I love you too, Mystic." He had known it by the trees already, and she seemed to feel the same, which relieved him in a way that he couldn't understand yet.

I smiled, glad. "Great. But ... complicated" I frowned slightly through my happy smile and licked my lips.

Terrwyn glanced at Mystc at the last word, "Complicated?" Love was always complicated, wasn't it? He sat back down, cocking his head inquiringly.

"If your not going to ... live with me" I cleared my throat, a little awkward.

Terrwyn frowned slightly. He hadn't said anything about leaving, had he? He had kept his thoughts in his head, but it seemed that Mystic had picked up on them anyway, "I don't want to cause you any problems by living with you, but I won't go, if you don't drive me away."

"Your choice. It wouldn't be a problem, Terrwyn" I said, smiling a little.

Terrwyn rose again and pressed his muzzle against Mystic's, "I don't want to leave you."

"You don't have to" I whispered, pawing his shoulder affectionatly.

Terrwyn smiled as he pressed his muzzle against Mystic's fur, inhaling her scent, "Then I won't." He stepped back and smiled as he looked at her.

Terrwyn smiled at Mystic, forcing himself to ignore her condition. They had aired their feelings, but that didn't mean he should spring at her right away. Instead, he turned to the beach, where the sun was slowly starting to sink lower, "Do you want to show me around your territory?" Since it would be his home as well, it would be nice to see more of it.

I nodded. "How about tomorrow?" I asked, yawning.

Terrwyn spotted the yawn and nodded, "Of course." He smiled slightly and settled down against the wall of the cave, close to the entrance, watching Mystic with the smile still on his face.

I nuzzled him, before going to the back of my cave and falling into a deep, dreamless slepp.

Only after he could hear Mystic's deep, even breaths did Terrwyn rise again. He padded to the mouth of the cave and looked up at the stars littering the sky. Taking a deep breath to prepare for this new chapter of his life, Terrwyn returned to his position and lay down, facing the mouth of the cave, listening to the roar of the ocean until he fell asleep.

Terrwyn had always been a late riser, unless there was a hunt that he had planned for early. However, this morning, he found himself waking earlier than usual. He blinked twice, then rose and stretched leisurely, before remembering the day's events. He turned and smiled at Mystic, "Good morning."
